Lake Life

Happy Monday! This weekend flew by and I’m sad it’s over. We spent the weekend on Lake Livingston at my best friend’s parent’s house. We had the best time! It was HOT HOT HOT but we surprisingly survived haha. The house is right on the lake, and there’s also a boat dock that we relax on for a good portion of the weekend. The pics below show the back area of the house, so you can see how easily accessible the lake and dock are. I LOVE the backyard. When we are there in the cooler months, we spend a lot of time playing games in the yard and hanging out on the porch. Even though I’ve been many times, I never get over the view walking out onto the porch every morning.

In the summer, the dock is our favorite place to be because there’s a nice breeze and we can just relax, lay out, listen to music, and of course, drink. We can also jump into the lake whenever we want! The views of the sunset are also pretty incredible.

On Friday, we took a boat ride to a nearby lakeside restaurant called Farmhouse on the Lake. It was so cool to travel by boat rather than by car. We had some amazing desserts there, that I’m drooling thinking about! It was such a cute place with some really nice views of the lake. I would love to go back again when it’s not so hot and sit out on the dock and eat. Judging by their dessert, their food is probably just as good!

We had such a great weekend, and I can’t wait to go back. We are thinking of going in December so that we can hang out on the porch (without melting), play yard games, make fires, and eat s’mores. Weekends like this make me feel so lucky to have such great friends and an amazing husband who I can make these memories with. Life is good!

The Best Thirty-One Travel Tote

Summer is coming (in Texas, it’s already here)! So I wanted to share with y’all my favorite travel tote that is perfect whether you’re going to the beach, a summer BBQ, a pool party…or really anywhere where you have to carry a ton of things but you only want to use one bag. I have been loving Thirty-One bags because they’re durable, roomy, and super cute, all at the same time. You can personalize any of them and there are so many different styles for every occasion. They also make great gifts. I’ve included some shots of how much my large utility tote holds. I also really like that it folds down so it’s easy to store. It’s awesome!

My good friend, Whitney, has been selling Thirty-One for a while now, so I purchase all of my bags from her. I’ll link her website here if y’all are interested!

Happy Saturday!

Our California Honeymoon

Jacob and I got married in October of 2014, and for our honeymoon, we took a trip to California where we rented a car and drove down Pacific Coast Highway, staying in cities along the way. We started in San Francisco and ended up in Los Angeles. It was one of the coolest experiences of our life. The coast of California is SO beautiful!

Bridge

When we were in Napa, we toured the Castello Di Amorosa winery. The building looks like a castle! And the wine tasting was in the dungeon of the castle. It was an unforgettable experience!

We spent a couple of nights in Carmel, which is such a cute, quaint town. If you’re ever visiting, you HAVE to stop at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was a rainy day when we were there, so we decided to do something indoors. I took this photo of the jelly fish there. This is just one of many of the cool exhibits they have.

We had the time of our lives on this trip. It was amazing to drive down PCH and stay a couple of nights in each city along the way. We definitely want to go back and do it again someday.

Alaskan Cruise

Last May, I went on an Alaskan cruise with my best friend and her parents. We stopped in Juneau, Ketchikan, Glacier Bay, and Sitka. It was by far the most incredible trip yet! We flew to Seattle and we got to spend a little bit of time there exploring before we sailed off to Alaska. We fell in love with Seattle! Here are a few pictures from our trip. If any of you are thinking of going on a cruise that isn’t beachy, I would highly recommend the Holland America cruise line!

This picture was taken at the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau.

I snapped this photo as we were headed back to the ship in Ketchikan. I loved the look of all the little boats and well….the background isn’t too bad either.

Ketchikan

Another shot of Mendenhall Glacier. Look how small the people look!

Glacier Bay

Alaskan selfie! We went on a short walk through this forest in Sitka. It was gorgeous.

And this was my view…

I’ve never been to a place so breathtaking as Alaska. I can’t wait to go back someday!
