New Jewelry!

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. On Saturday, I went to Francesca’s, which is one of my favorite places to shop. They always have the cutest clothes, and they’re pretty affordable. I’ve recently gotten more into jewelry. I don’t usually wear a ton of jewelry unless it’s really dainty and light, but I’ve been trying to step out of my comfort zone and have been buying more bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. Francesca’s has some of the prettiest jewelry! I bought 2 pairs of earrings and 2 bracelets, each under $20! And right now, they’re having a buy one, get one 40% off of all jewelry. I couldn’t pass it up!

I hope everyone has a great week!

2-Ingredient Pancakes

Happy Monday! Yesterday for breakfast, I tried out a super easy (and healthy) pancake recipe. It literally took about 10 minutes to make. And the best part…it only requires 2 ingredients! Well, 3 if you count the syrup haha. These pancakes are dairy free and grain free. I will say they are much thinner than your regular pancakes and cook much faster, so just be sure and watch them while they are on the griddle.

  • Mash a ripe banana in a small bowl. It works much better if the banana is browning a bit…that means it’s softer. Mash until all the chunks are out and the banana is super smooth.
  • Add 2 eggs to the banana and whisk. You can even put the mix into a small blender like a NutriBullet to make it even smoother and give it an even consistency. I didn’t do that for these because I didn’t want to wash another dish (haha), and they came out fine.
  • Spray your griddle or pan with some baking spray (I used coconut oil spray). Scoop out the mix with a large spoon and make them like regular pancakes!
  • Add some pure syrup on top and enjoy!

If you are making these for two, just double the recipe. I hope y’all enjoy!

Night Out in New Braunfels, TX

This past Saturday, Jacob and I had a last minute night out in New Braunfels, TX with a group of our close friends. New Braunfels is one of my favorite cities because it’s quaint and has a true, Texas feel. I love all of the little shops, wineries, and bars in the town. And it’s only about 30 minutes outside of San Antonio. Jacob and I also got married in New Braunfels, so it holds a special place in my heart. I’ll post pics of our wedding soon!

Here are a couple of shots I snapped while we were at Phoenix Saloon. I highly recommend going there if you are ever in town! They had live music, lots of draft beer, and apparently some of the best chili around. We will definitely be going back to try it out! I hope y’all have a great Memorial Day holiday.

Favorite Drug Store Foundation

I have tested out pretty much every foundation at the drug store, and these 3 are my absolute favorites. I have dry skin, so I always look for a foundation that will provide some moisture. I have found that some dewy foundations tend to sit on top of the skin and move around a lot. These do the opposite! They absorb into the skin, and aren’t too heavy, so they feel very lightweight and comfortable.

Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation, Loreal Infallible Pro-Glow, Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte

I love the Milani Conceal + Perfect because it doesn’t settle into my laugh lines (most foundations do), and the coverage is AMAZING. I only have to use one pump for my entire face. In my opinion, this foundation is better than any high end foundation I’ve ever used. It applies flawlessly with a beauty blender and stays on all day long! It also keeps my dry skin perfectly hydrated.

When I want a more “natural” finish but still want to look dewy and awake, I go for the Loreal Pro-Glow. This foundation has more of a medium coverage and is great for every day. And once it’s on the skin, it doesn’t move! It will last all day long.

The Loreal Pro-Matte is the foundation I go for when I want a matte face. I don’t usually go for a matte finish, but this foundation gives me the matte look when I want it without overdrying my skin (like lots of matte foundations do). A little goes a long way with this! One layer gives me the perfect amount of coverage. I always apply this foundation with a beauty blender just to provide a tiny bit of moisture.

I hope you guys are having a great day so far. Happy Friday Eve!

Grain Free Tortillas

Recently, Jacob and I have been trying to cut out dairy and grains from our diet. We aren’t perfect and I’m sure we will slip up at times, but so far we’ve been doing really great! One of the things we cannot live without are tortillas. We are from San Antonio, where you will find some of the best homemade tortillas on the planet, so that is the one thing I was nervous about with this new “diet”. We went to Whole Foods the other day, and we found these grain-free tortillas that are AMAZING. You can barely tell the difference between these and the real thing. This morning I ate bacon and egg tacos, and the other night for dinner, we ate beef fajita tacos. I’m so happy we found these, because now I don’t have to live without one of the foods we love the most….breakfast tacos!

I hope y’all have a great Wednesday!
